Chris Froome almost assures a Vuelta a Espana win on a gruelling Alto de Angliru ascent.

Froome said it was "an absolutely savage way to finish the Vuelta."

Bar a disaster on the final stage in Madrid, Froome will be the first cyclist to win both tours in one year since 1978.
