Insomniacs are a four-piece punk/rock band from Redditch.

Formed in 2012 as a covers band, Tom, Ben, Josh and Jake soon started working on their own original material and within a year had played more than 50 venues.

They're influenced by Green Day, Blink 182, Bowling For Soup and Sex Pistols.

"Meaty, cutting-edge punk performed with explosive passion that had Redditch rocking." - Andrew Marston

Hereford River Carnival

Hereford River Carnival

Around 15,000 people turned up to last weekend's River Carnival in Hereford.

As well processions throughout the city and along the river, there was a lot of live music - hosted by the team behind Bromyard's Nozstock Festival.

After a gap of 50 years, the festival was re-launched in 2014 when 7,000 people enjoyed the fancy dress parade on the water.

Jasper in the Company of Others are a five piece folk rock, folk pop act based in Worcester and Derby.

In recent years, the band has shared the stage with the likes of Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Ben Howard, Ed Sheeran, Cast and Toploader.

Touring the UK and beyond, they embark on one of their biggest journeys yet, armed with a brand new single As The Sun Rises released on 21 April 2017 with a full album out in the summer.

What an incredible journey it's been, so far, from Bromyard's Remi Harris.

After switching rock guitar for gypsy jazz, he's performed at Buckingham Palace, done live sessions on Radio 2 and 3, been championed by BBC Introducing at the Montreal Jazz Festival and worked with Jamie Cullum in a televised performance at the Royal Albert Hall.

He's back in his hometown after constantly touring throughout the UK and Europe with a special show at the Conquest on Friday.

BBC Introducing at the Hay Festival

BBC Introducing at the Hay Festival
It's a pick 'n' mix shop that straddles the Herefordshire-Wales border and swells the population of Hay-on-Wye early each summer.

We'll be in the BBC Tent at the Hay Festival, this year, showing what BBC Introducing is all about during the 11 days of famous scientists, authors and entertainers.

Hand-picked Herefordshire & Worcestershire artists, from the BBC Introducing Uploader, will be showcased in two separate sessions and their performances recorded for broadcast.

Other musical acts on the lineup include Will Young, Brian May and Amy MacDonald, but elsewhere at the event you can expect appearances from Eddie Izzard, Sir Ken Dodd, Stephen Fry, Graham Norton and chess champion Garry Kasparov.
