Roundhouse Rising and South by Southwest
Music from artists who performed at the Roundhouse Rising Festival in London and the South by Southwest Festival in Austin, Texas.
We'll be hearing from artists who performed at two different events: the Roundhouse Rising Festival in London and South by Southwest Festival (SXSW) in Austin, Texas.
The Roundhouse Rising Festival featured live music from a host of new talent. BBC Introducing showcased four new artists: rock ‘n roll four piece band VANT, soulful/blues singer and musician Tom Grennan who’s already appeared as a featured vocalist with Chase & Status and supported The Libertines, newcomer Zuzu who only uploaded her music to BBC Introducing four months ago, and Isaiah Dreads, a young grime/hip hop artist.
Huw Stephens also will be in Texas for SXSW where BBC Music presented five nights at the British Music Embassy to showcase the most exciting British acts of 2017. BBC introducing has a track record of championing future stars and this year showcased Casi, an ethereal pop artist with rich vocals; Catholic Action, making the guitar sound fresh and crucial once again; Idles, a punk band influenced by Etta James and Otis Reading; Rag N Bone Man, whose debut album 'Human' hit the top spot in the UK's album chart; Liverpool band The Vryll Society whose songs blend psychedelia with pop, and The Japanese House, aka Amber Bain, with a unique sound and knack for bittersweet melodies.
