BBC Midland Light Orchestra

In addition to using many outside orchestras, the BBC had their own Regional Staff orchestras specialising in light music, based in London, Birmingham, Glasgow, Bristol and Belfast. Of these orchestras, the BBC's 'Pride and Joy' was the BBC Midland Light Orchestra, which could be heard 'on the air' several times a week and whose versatility knew no bounds.
