The Paris agreement to combat climate change will take force after passing a key threshold of support from the world's CO2 emitters. The agreement will formally come into effect in 30 days' time, on 4 November, but what hope is there that nations and businesses will stick to it?
Ethiopia opens a shiny new railway, linking its capital Addis Ababa with a port in the neighbouring country, Djibouti. The multi-billion dollar scheme backed by money from China could transform that corner of Africa.
Plus we hear about the rise of India's car industry, and plans from the UK to make businesses disclose the number of foreign workers on their books.
