Ana Matronic
Ana Matronic presents classic jazz from her personal collection of 78 rpm records, including recordings by Benny Goodman and Duke Ellington.
When her husband inherited his family’s Gramaphone, Ana Matronic didn’t want it just to sit around the house as an unused antique. Spurred by her lifelong love of jazz, she began collecting her favourite “hot jazz” 78s from the 20s and 30s.
Ana brings listeners inside her personal collection and shares songs she learned about from her jazz-obsessed family members and of all places, classic Bugs Bunny cartoons. Classic songs from Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Artie Shaw, and Ambrose and his Orchestra will be played, all digitized from Ana’s personal collection of 78 rpm records.
