Jenson Button: 'He's one of the greats' - Ron Dennis

McLaren chairman Ron Dennis has praised Jenson Button as "one of the great" on the news that the former Formula 1 world champion is to take a sabbatical from racing.

Button will not race in Formula 1 in 2017 but will remain with McLaren as an ambassador - although his new two-year control could see him race in 2018.

Belgian Stoffel Vandoorne is to be promoted from reserve driver to partner double world champion Fernando Alonso.
