
North Korea's Biggest Nuclear Test
North Korea test blast; Kerry and Lavrov; Stranded above the Alps
North Korea is believed to have carried out its fifth and largest ever test of a nuclear device, South Korean military officials say. South Korean President Park Geun-hye called it an act of "self-destruction" which showed the "maniacal recklessness" of leader Kim Jong-un.
On Friday, US secretary of state, John Kerry, meets his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Geneva to try and agree a ceasefire between the clusters of armed groups fighting in Syria.
People have spent the night stuck on a series of cable cars high above the glaciers of Mont Blanc in the French Alps. Initially 110 people were trapped, but many were airlifted out by helicopters. However, the operation was suspended as night fell, to resume in the morning.
