Islamic State: Abu Muhammad al-Adnani “Killed in Aleppo”

IS leader death; Gabon elections; Zuckerberg in Nigeria

One of the longest-serving and most prominent leaders of so-called Islamic State (IS) has been killed in Syria, IS-affiliated media say. The Amaq News Agency reported that Abu Muhammad al-Adnani had died in the province of Aleppo.

Tensions continue to simmer in Gabon between the incumbent President Ali Bongo and his challenger, Jean Ping. Victory has been declared by both sides in recent elections, with Jean Ping's side saying that results from 8 out of 9 provinces show them in the lead. Ali Bongo's family have governed the country for nearly 50 years.

Facebook boss, Mark Zuckerberg, has just made his first visit to Sub-Saharan Africa. It seems he snuck into Nigeria unannounced and dropped in on some small tech start-ups. He had the chance to speak to some young entrepreneurs hoping to put Nigeria on the technological world map. What did they make of his visit?
