Singer Chris Brown Arrested for 'Pointing Gun at Woman'

US singer Chris Brown has been arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after a woman told police he had threatened her with a gun. The singer has several convictions for violence, including a 2009 assault on his then girlfriend, pop star Rihanna.

There have been reports of renewed fighting between government troops and rebels in Myanmar, just as the biggest peace talks in the country's history get underway. It will bring together de facto leader Aung San Suu Kyi's government and guerilla groups to try to end wars in its border regions that go as far back as 1948.

A truck bomb has exploded outside a hotel in Somalia's capital, Mogadishu, killing 22 people in a heavily secured area close to the presidential palace. The Islamist al-Shabab group, which is affiliated to al-Qaeda, says it is behind the attack.
