The man who saved The Archers
The man who introduced the Grundy family to the Radio 4 soap The Archers has died aged 71.
William Smethurst joined the programme in 1978 as editor and is said to have saved the long running drama at a time when its very existence was under threat.
Trevor Harrison who has played Eddie Grundy since 1980, tells Martha Kearney about joining the show.
