Canada Wildfire: Alberta Declares Emergency

Thousands of residents evacuated; Nasa's most humanoid robot; Katumbi to run for DRC president

The governor of the Canadian province of Alberta has declared a state of emergency as a huge wildfire sweeps across the city of Fort McMurray. Officials say 1,600 homes and other buildings have been destroyed by the blaze, which is now approaching the local airport.

A team at the Edinburgh Centre for Robotics in Scotland has started work with one of the world's most advanced humanoids on the planet, Nasa's Valkyrie robot.

Prominent politician and businessman, Moise Katumbi, has declared he will be running for president in the Democratic Republic of Congo's upcoming elections.
