Five Years Since a Giant Earthquake Hit Japan
Remembering the victims of the giant earthquake in Japan; Obama's 'Free riders'; Ethiopia
The people of Japan are remembering the victims of the massive earthquake and tsunami which killed nearly 20,000 people exactly five years ago. The tsunami also crippled a nuclear plant at Fukushima, where meltdowns in three reactors spread radiation over a wide area of countryside, contaminating water, food and air.
'Free riders' - that is the description that President Obama has given to some US allies - drag the US into conflicts but as he puts it, "show an unwillingness to put any skin in the game". He also said during an interview with the Atlantic Magazine that Britain and France had allowed Libya to become a "mess" after the military intervention.
Africa's human rights court has ordered Ethiopia to pay $150,000 compensation to a rape victim for failing to protect her rights.
