Dawson 'very, very excited' by new-look England

Former England scrum-half Matt Dawson says he is "very, very excited" about the four years ahead for English rugby, after new head coach Eddie Jones named his first squad.

Seven uncapped players were included in the Australian’s 33-man squad before the Six Nations, which starts next month.

Dawson says he is "surprised" at the omissions of Tom Youngs and Tom Wood, but believes "English rugby's great enigma" Danny Cipriani, who was also left out, may not merit a place at present - or in the long term.
