Syrians in Lebanon

New citizenship laws in Lebanon, Burundi UN debate, Under 17s Football World Cup.

A new law announced by the Lebanese Foreign Minister over the weekend allows for the foreign wives of Lebanese men to gain citizenship but the law will not be expanded to Syrian and Palestinian husbands of Lebanese women. The BBC's Ben James has been investigating.

Later today the UN Security Council will meet to discuss the political violence and crisis in Burundi. The BBC's Prime Ndikumamengue in Bujumbura reports.

Nigeria has won the Under 17s World Cup football final on Sunday night in Chile, defeating Mali 2-0. Lutz Pfannenstiel is a football scout in Germany who has spent much of his career playing and coaching in Africa. He spoke to Newsday about the result.
