The Origin and Future of FOOC
Sixty years on from its first broadcast, listeners put their burning questions about the production, origin and future of From Our Own Correspondent to series producer Tony Grant.
In this week sixth years ago, long-running series From Our Own Correspondent was first brought to the BBC airwaves. Following encouragement for producers to leave their office chairs and get closer to the front line, the programme gave the opportunity for journalists to add a human touch to their reporting. The BBC’s Tony Grant has been producing the programme for many years. In this listener special, he takes to the front of the microphone to answer your questions from around the world about the programme’s stripped back production, extensive archive and unique place in the BBC’s output.
