Republican Contenders Clash at Presidential Debate

Heated words at Republican debate, MH370 debris search expanded, Winning over rock stars.

In the United States, the ten leading Republican Party presidential hopefuls have held their first debate on the road to next year's election. They clashed on policy issues, including immigration and abortion, as well as directing criticism towards the Democrat leading contender, Hilary Clinton. For his part, the real estate mogul, Donald Trump, refused to rule out running as an independent.

France is stepping up air and sea search operations around the Indian Ocean island of Reunion in a bid to locate further debris from the missing MH370 Malaysian passenger jet. Neighbours Madagascar and Mauritius have also been asked to help widen the search. 20 million hits and counting!
