Republican Presidential Candidates in First US TV Debate

10 US Presidential hopefuls face-off, MH370 search intensifies, Rescue migrants in Sicily.

The American viewing public assesses the rhetorical skills of the 10 most popular hopefuls vying to become the Republican party's official presidential candidate of choice. It's the first official Republican television debate ahead of next year's election, with the line-up including Jeb Bush - both a brother and son to former US presidents - as well as Scott Walker, Marco Rubio and the real estate mogul, Donald Trump.

Efforts are being intensified in the search for more wreckage from the missing MH370 airliner near the Indian Ocean island of Reunion. France has deployed air and sea missions in the region and the authorities in Madagascar and Mauritius have been asked to do likewise. Our correspondent takes a trip in a coastguard plane. Hundreds of migrants who were rescued from a vessel that sank off Libya have arrived on the Italian island of Sicily.
