Taliban appoint new leader, MH370 relatives speak out, Winter Olympics in Beijing?
The Afghan Taliban have appointed a successor to Mullah Omar, whose death the militant group has now acknowledged. The new leader is Mullah Akhtar Mansour, who was the second-in-command and once served as a minister in the Taliban government.

On Friday the International Olympic Committee will award Beijing or Almaty the 2022 Winter Games, but both bids are prompting many concerns, with some calls for the process to be restarted from scratch. John Sudworth reports from Beijing.
