Boris Johnson: Heathrow third runway "won't happen"

The Airports Commission is "clear and unanimous" that Heathrow should be allowed to build a third runway. Its judgement comes after three years and at a cost of £20 million.

The chair of the commission Sir Howard Davies told Today that a new Heathrow runway would allow flights that are "very important to the future of the British economy" but there should be new restrictions on noise and pollution that would make the airport a better neighbour.

Mayor of London Boris Johnson disagreed with the decision and said it "isn't deliverable".

Sarah Montague asked Mr Johnson about his comment that he'd lay down in front of bulldozers before a runway was built at Heathrow.

"I don’t think my services of a bulldozer blocker will be required", as "it won't happen".
