England rugby union player Manu Tuilagi will not play in the World Cup after admitting to assaulting two police officers and a taxi driver. Mark Chapman talks to former England Internationals Matt Dawson and Jeremy Guscott about their opinions on the Leicester Tigers centre.
“I’m just disgusted, I’m disappointed, because there is just no excuse” said Matt.
“He deserves everything that he gets, he’s got a terrible record”
“He is potentially a great player for England […] and it’s so irresponsible, I’m devastated for Stuart Lancaster and the rest of the coaching staff”
Do you think that he will be lucky to continue his England career after this? asked Mark Chapman, BBC broadcaster.
“Manu is a young man, he’s made a terrible mistake, and it’s going to live with him for the rest of his life” replied Jeremy.
“We are all supporters of Rugby and we are all disappointed”
Tuilagi has been ordered to pay a total of £6,205 in fines, compensation and costs, and is now banned from the England Rugby team until January 2016.
