Legal threat over Co-op Group board vote
Ruth Fitzjohn, the chief of Midcounties Co-op (the largest independent co-operative in the UK) has threatened legal action over a governance vote at Co-op Group’s annual general meeting this weekend.
The Co-op is rejigging it’s board after its recent problems, but has only put up three candidates for the three board posts that are up for election.
Midcounties Co-op has threatened legal action over the vote.
Its president has urged candidates to withdraw to show "commitment to democracy” and demanded the new posts be contested.
