Rugby Union referee Nigel Owens backs microphones for football referees
Rugby Union referee, Nigel Owens, who was widely praised for how he handled England's latest six nations match, suggested microphones for referees in football would be beneficial.
He said it would be a "very interesting" development because it makes players watch their language and fans would be able to hear what football players "call referees".
Mr Owens said the most important aspect of refereeing sport to a high level is "control" of not only the rules, but the players, by being "authoritative and firm".
