Crisis Care
Dr Chetna Kang and Sophie Sulehria focus on mental health crisis care.
In the year to March, over 200 children who were having a mental health crisis were put into police cells. So this week Bedfordshire police launched a scheme to improve the way they deal with people in crisis.
It means they won't put ill people in cells wherever possible and a mental health nurse will be available to go out with police officers as part of a pilot project in Luton.
This week we'll hear from people who have experienced a mental health crisis where the police were called to find out what happened. And we'll discuss a petition in Hertfordshire to improve the out of hours crisis phone line.
