Pint-sized World Cup: Day Seventeen
All the highlights from day seventeen of the World Cup, including hosts Brazil going through to the quarter finals after knocking Chile out with a 3-2 win on penalties after the game finished 1-1.
Brazil will now face Colombia in the quarter final on Friday, after two goals from James (Jimmy to Chris Waddle) Rodriguez sealed their victory over a Suarez-less Uruguay. The goal was on a par with Tim Cahill and Robin Van Persie’s efforts earlier in the tournament.
Before the game Suarez released a statement regarding the incident with Giorgio Chiellini in Tuesday’s group game against Italy saying: 'I lost my balance and my face fell into Chiellini leaving a strong pain in my teeth'. Uruguay are appealing against his ban.
