Pruning spring-flowering shrubs

July is a good time to cut back spring-flowering shrubs. They flower on growth made the previous year and so by giving them a quick haircut now, you won’t lose out on next year’s display. Rachel de Thame goes along to RHS Wisley to find out how to go about it.
