The Cut Purse Rascals

The Cut Purse Rascals

Nigel, Dom, Olly, Rachael and recent addition Richard are Exeter based Country/Americana group; The Cut Purse Rascals.

They draw influences from late 60's early 70's American Roots Rock groups like The Band and Creedance Clearwater Rival, using the South West as the lyrical canvas for their songs.

The band are hoping to play festivals through the summer of 2014 - and today they'll be taking over the 'goldfish bowl' to perform live throughout the show.

Anna-Marie Waite

Anna-Marie Waite

Anna-Marie Waite quit her job three years ago and started out all over again!

"I made it my mission to try everything!" says the singer-songwriter from Exeter.

"Organising music events, support work, dance choreography, fundraising etc and this led me back to singing and song writing as well as some radio presenting. Everyone should take the leap!" she enthuses.

For many years Anna-Marie had a dream of singing in Nashville and riding around on a horse!

In 2013, she and some friends went on a road trip through Texas and Tennessee and arrived in Nashville just in time for her to sing on her birthday.

She'll be performing live and telling us more about her dreams of becoming a cowgirl when she joins us after 10am.

Sam Dowden

Sam Dowden

Sam Dowden is a 26-year-old singer songwriter and acoustic guitarist from North Devon who has just completed an 11-date tour of the the South West.

He's been performing solo for the past five years and released his debut album in 2012.

Sam lists Newton Faulkner as his biggest influence and he'll be in to chat and perform live on today's show.

Drifter and Scully

Drifter and Scully

Local children's authors - Lisa Ford from Brixham and Emma Green from Paignton have been best friends for over 30 years.

They started writing stories when they were young and when Emma found an original story they had written all those years ago, she took it to show Lisa.

Lisa read it to her son one night, and he said they should start writing again, that was the seed!

We'll hear the full story when they join us on today's show.

Chris Millington

Chris Millington

Chris Millington is a singer songwriter from Combe Martin.

Inspired by the North Devon coastline and local stories of smuggling, wrecking and piracy, Chris has combined the traditional with the contemporary, penning moving songs of the sea, the past and the heart.

A multitalented multi-instrumentalist, Chris has enchanted and captivated audiences across the country - most recently playing alongside such artists as Show of Hands, Seth Lakeman and Steeleye Span.

He'll be performing live on today's show.
