First transmitted in 1978, Julian Bream presents his fourth and final masterclass on the guitar. Tonight’s music, ‘Nocturnal after John Dowland', was specially written for Bream in 1963 by Benjamin Britten.
Britten’s piece is based on the song 'Come, Heavy Sleep' by the English Renaissance composer, John Dowland.
