Instrumentation and melodic writing - Monteverdi’s 'Toccata from Orfeo'

A composition workshop based on recreating a classical masterpiece inspired by Monteverdi’s 'Toccata from Oorfeo'. The workshop helps the students to understand the capabilities of a range of instruments, especially strings. It also teaches good ideas for melodic writing and instrument-specific techniques.
