Designing a clay pencil pot
We see artist Kate Malone design a clay pencil pot in her studio. Using a picture of a sunflower from her ideas cupboard as inspiration, she sketches her design. Kathryn demonstrates decorating the pot using wetting and cutting techniques as well as pieces from her junk box to mark the clay. Her creation spends hours in a special oven before the pot is glazed with paint and placed once again in the oven for completion.
