Hindu beliefs about Ganesh
A Hindu woman tells the story of Ganesh, the elephant-headed god of prosperity and wisdom. Ganesh is also revered as the Remover of Obstacles. There is always a rat present in pictures of him, thought to be the vehicle he travels on. He has four arms, in which he carries an axe, a snare and some sweetmeats. His fourth hand is held up to offer his protection and blessing.
