The programme shows the physical power of the Angara river in Siberia, its ability to erode its banks, carve out a valley & carry boulders in flood.

The programme shows the physical power of the river, its ability to erode its banks, carve out a valley & carry boulders in flood. We start with Lake Baikal, the source of the mighty Angara, and then follow the river down its course, show how people have been able to harness this power to make electricity (Hydro Electric Power). However the industry that is powered by HEP has harmed theenvironment, and this film shows how industrial pollution can threaten the river itslef, and the lives of the people who depend on the river.
