He finds out about Benjamin Wiseman Jr, who patented a windmill in 1783, Admiral Robert Fitzroy, who pioneered the storm warning system, and William Gilberd, who discovered that Earth is a magnet. He also learns more about William Harvey, who corrected flawed ideas about the circulation of blood; William Hase, who modified prison treadmills to take power outside the jail; John Jeyes, who invented a unique three-function toilet cleaner and William Hyde Wollaston, who came up with the camera lucida.
