Lekking at dawn

A contest is taking place between black grouse. The winner will claim the female as a mate but only the fittest will win. Making a loud noise is not enough, they must also look good. The grouse make themselves big and colourful with a bright white fan for a tail, shiny black feathers and a bright red head wattle, engorged with blood to make it 4 times bigger than normal!
