He compares the youthful and mature Strauss through the Serenade and Sonatina no. 1 and examines how Stravinsky marshalled his larger forces in the iconic Symphonies of Wind Instruments. Performances by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales conducted by Douglas Boyd.
