Open wide

The first floods of the wet season provide a unique fishing opportunity for Yacare caiman. The fish are so plentiful that the caiman can just sit in a row across the river with their mouths open... and wait for a fish to swim in. This is only possible when the water level is low and the rivers have not burst their banks. After that the fish disperse.
