During the Cold War, Gabriel Kleim was one of a group of women prosecuted after being tricked into handing over secrets to Romeo spies sent by the East German secret police, the Stasi.
During the Cold War, more than thirty West German women were prosecuted after being tricked into handing over secrets to Romeo spies sent by the Stasi, the East German secret police. Gabriel Kleim was one of them and she feels betrayed by her country and by the man she fell in love with. For Assignment, Angus Crawford tells her story and asks if, twenty years after the fall of the Berlin Wall, women like her deserve to be forgiven.
