London's Bleeding

BBC News explores the rise of knife crime in London, following teenage stab victims over the course of several months, from the operating theatre, through to their rehabilitation.

The rise in knife crime in London has been described as an epidemic, destroying lives and leaving communities living in fear. With recorded incidents at the highest recorded level since records began, the police, local and national Government seem at a loss about what to do. In this film, BBC News reports on one hospital that has bucked the trend - and reduced readmission rates from 45 percent to just 1 percent. Over the course of several months, BBC News has followed teenage stab victims from the operating theatre, through to their rehabilitation, to see the impact of knife crime on them, their families and communities.
