Drug overdose deaths from opioids hit the highest level ever recorded in the United States last year, with an estimated 200 people dying each day. The increase in opioid deaths has led to a spike in cocaine deaths, as the government warns that cocaine is increasingly found to be laced with fentanyl, a synthetic opioid 50 times stronger that heroin.
