Driving Change: Golf's Battle for Equality

Sarah Mulkerrins travels to the US to examine the history of women's involvement in the sport. Sarah explores how golf has struggled to embrace gender and race diversity in the past, and asks whether things have changed for the current female black professionals. She also meets the inspiring ladies of Wake Robin Golf Club in Washington DC, who defied racial segregation and gender discrimination in the 1930s, leading the fight for the desegregation of public golf courses. Sarah also meets Renee Powell, the second African-American woman ever to play on the Ladies Tour.
