East Timor: Coming Home
The BBC has had access to a project to reunite a group of East Timor's so-called "stolen generation" with their families, taking them back to their homeland for the first time.
East Timor's so-called "stolen generation" were around 4,000 children taken from their families in the 1980s and 90s during Indonesia's brutal occupation. Some were conscripted into the Indonesian military; others taken by religious groups or state institutions. The BBC has had access to a project to reunite a group of them with their families, taking them back to their homeland for the first time.
