Cost of Sport

Eleanor Oldroyd and Sean Farrington explore the rising cost of following sport, from ticket prices to TV subscriptions.

Eleanor Oldroyd is joined by BBC Business Correspondent Sean Farrington to examine the rising cost of sport for fans. As ticket prices for some of the biggest events on the sporting calendar continue to rise, they explore the impact on supporters, where the money goes and why attending live sport remains so important to many fans.

They also look at the cost of following sport from home. With sports rights spread across more platforms than ever before, why are fans paying more to watch? Will costs ever come down, or can supporters expect further rises as models such as dynamic pricing become increasingly common in British sport?
