The Northumberland National Park is characterised by a unique landscape of wild moors, gentle hills and deep valleys criss-crossed by clear rivers. Its western border adjoins Kielder Forest, one of the largest man-made forests in Europe.

This vast natural expanse is a haven for numerous bird species, including the osprey, once extinct in the UK but now returning annually from Africa to breed. The park is also rich in history, including extensive stretches of Hadrian’s Wall.
