Ronan heads to Ireland’s southernmost and largest county to meet up with family, compete in the ancient sport of road bowling and explore a Tibetan Buddhist temple on the coast.

Ronan begins his Wild Atlantic journey in the county of Cork, Ireland’s southernmost and largest county. He meets up with his nephew Ruairí, and it doesn’t take long for the Keating competitive spirit to reveal itself. Together, they face off in the ancient sport of road bowling along the back roads of the port town of Castletown-Bearhaven. Ronan also gets the chance to go foraging for wild edible plants in an enormous rewilding project area, and on the stunning Beara Peninsula, he visits the country’s first Tibetan Buddhist temple and retreat centre.
