Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 6 'Pathétique'

The BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and Delyana Lazarova perform Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6 and are joined by Duo Játékok for Mendelssohn's Concerto for Two Pianos in A flat.

With its sweeping melodies and raw emotion, Tchaikovsky’s famous Pathétique Symphony is a powerful exploration of love, loss and fate. It’s music that speaks from the heart, and with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra under Principal Guest Conductor Delyana Lazarova’s baton, every note tells a story.

But first, Duo Játékok - the French piano duo with a name inspired by playfulness - lights the touchpaper on a firecracker of a double concerto, composed by teenage genius Felix Mendelssohn on a mission to astonish the world.

Presented by Kate Molleson, live from Glasgow's City Halls.
