The Charlatans' frontman and solo artist Tim Burgess joins Vernon Kay to choose the songs that have soundtracked his life so far.

The Charlatans' frontman Tim Burgess joins Vernon Kay to choose the songs that have soundtracked his life.

Born in Worsley, Tim grew up in Moulton in Cheshire and joined The Charlatans after supporting them as part of his first band, The Electric Crayons. The band released their first single in 1990 and have now released fourteen studio albums over a 35-year career to date. He's also released several albums as a solo artist, and during the COVID-19 lockdowns, he launched his hugely successful Tim's Listening Parties on social media, where music fans listen to an album together, pressing play at the same time, often with artists joining in. Next month, Tim heads off on tour with The Charlatans across the UK, including dates in Norwich, Cardiff, Newcastle and Edinburgh.

A BBC Audio production for BBC Radio 2.
