Musician and ‘national treasure’ Dougie MacLean OBE and local writer Robert Campbell.

Helen Mark MBE presents BBC Radio Ulster’s weekly Ulster-Scots magazine this week alongside Rab Lennox, Jonnie Crawford and Willie Hill. This week, Rab chats with a genuine icon of Scottish music - national treasure Dougie MacLean - ahead of his upcoming show at the Mandela Hall in Belfast. They talk Caledonia, Dougie's links to Northern Ireland and why his daughter calls him a magician!

Meanwhile, Helen spends time with writer Robert Campbell to find out about his ambitious writing plans which tie in with the upcoming spring equinox. And speaking of the changing of the seasons - the team discuss the Ulster-Scots and Scots obsession with weather - specifically words for snow and rain. Why are there so many?!

As always, listeners are invited to contact the programme with a good Ulster-Scots yarn or event to talk about. The easiest way to do that is by email – helen.mark@bbc.co.uk
