Cape Coast
Clive learns about his family story on an emotional visit to a former slave fort, before getting a big celebratory welcome (and a new name) from the elders of the Fante people.
In the second leg of his Ghanaian adventure, Clive heads 80 miles from the capital city of Accra to the picturesque fishing ports of Cape Coast and Elmina, where he digs deep into his ancestral roots.
He gets to take part in one of Ghana's most exciting tribal celebrations as he’s welcomed by the Fante people. He's given a new name by elders from the group, as well as a personalised Fante flag that celebrates both his West African and Jamaican roots.
As part of this journey, Clive makes a difficult but moving visit to a former slave fort to discover some of what his enslaved ancestors went through. And, in a personal first, Clive gets to dance in a hip-hop video with rising star Kojo Vypa.
