Durban
Clive gets onto the anti-poaching front line protecting South Africa’s magnificent rhino and tries to stay upright as he takes to the ocean with a surf school for street kids.
The second leg of Clive’s adventure takes him to Durban, known for its fabulous surfing beaches and chilled atmosphere. It’s also the biggest city in the spectacular KwaZulu-Natal province, ancestral home of the Zulu people.
Clive jumps into action as he joins an anti-poaching team saving South Africa’s critically endangered rhinos from extinction and joins a surf school that teaches homeless and disadvantaged kids the skills to surf – and to transform their lives.
Back in the city, Clive gets a lesson in making spicy bunny chow, the iconic street food created by Durban’s large Indian population, before heading out to the Valley of a Thousand Hills for a masterclass in Zulu beadwork at a craft centre that gives women living with HIV the skills to support their families.
