'I stood there making pigeon noises.'
Sean recalls the lengths he went to get his brother’s pigeons in the shed.
“You mentioned the tin bath hanging on the yard wall yesterday.” says The Citizen.
“I did indeed,” Sean says.
“Well in Belfast in the 70's lots of punters kept pigeons. Was that the same in the Maiden City?”
“My brother kept pigeons,” Sean says. “I was never that fond. Lovely to look at but I didn’t like their calling cards. He would give me a little pile of corn to lure them into the shed. So I would stand in our back yard shaking it up and down, making a noise like this…” Sean imitates a pigeon. “The things you do…”
